Three Boeing engineers, Jim Lea, John Burroughs, and Neil Anderson, shared a passion for the outdoors but were frustrated by the uncomfortable and inefficient sleeping pads available at the time. They envisioned something better – a self-inflating mattress that offered superior insulation and cushioning. After much experimentation in a Seattle garage, they patented the world’s first self-inflating sleeping pad, forever changing how people slept outdoors.
